Description
Maserati 241141 is designed to let extra coolant in the expansion tank return to the cooling system. This keeps the system from overheating and helps to maintain the proper coolant pressure.
The expansion tank and radiator are connected by a little plastic tube called a vent pipe. It features a tiny valve that opens and shuts to let coolant pass through, and it is situated close to the top of the expansion tank.
The coolant in the system expands and contracts as a result of the heat generated by the engine. When the coolant expands, it has a place to go in the expansion tank. Excess coolant can return to the cooling system through the vent pipe when the engine cools down.
